Boss's Death Guide Ch 135

🔥 Boss's Death Guide 🔥 by Jue Jue

Chapter 135 Level Five

Qi Jingchen had not kept the Chenguang team informed of his whereabouts, because he wanted to keep the current location of the Chenguang team under wraps as his secret base.

However, even though he didn’t inform them, the Chenguang team always observed their surroundings, and their surveillance range had expanded over time.

And that day, they’d discovered this huge group of people approaching.

While the others negotiated with the patrol personnel of the team, Qi An used his ability to teleport next to Qi Jingchen.

When he saw Qi Jingchen, Qi An's face lit up with a big smile. However, Feng Xun and the others were frightened by his sudden appearance and took a step back, almost losing their balance.

This person appeared out of thin air!

Because Yao Mengzhi knew of Qi An's existence and the reason for his abilities, Qi Jingchen didn’t make Qi An continue to keep his ability hidden. As a result, Qi An was now free to teleport recklessly. He saw that Feng Xun's face was white with shock, so he teleported in front of him and patted him on the shoulder, laughing cheekily.

Feng Xun felt his legs go weak.

Watching this scene, Qi Jingchen's smile deepened. He greeted Qi An, "Let's go."

In Qi Jingchen's room, a stone ability user had arranged a stone floor for him and made some stone tables and chairs. He brought Qi An in and sat down on one of the stone chairs. "How have you all been?"

"We've been doing great!" Qi An eagerly talked about what had been happening with the Chenguang team.

Indeed, the situation of the Chenguang team was very good. Before Qi Jingchen left, he purified the forest near them and the farmland in the valley. As a result, the crops and vegetables they grew not only grew very quickly but also attracted nearby animals!

The predators were killed, while the herbivores such as cows, sheep, and rabbits were kept and raised.

At first, everyone thought it would be difficult to tame these wild animals, but it turned out to be the opposite. Perhaps it was because the environment in the valley where they lived was too good, but the wild animals that entered the valley would not leave.

By now they had grown a lot of crops and raised a lot of animals. Their living standard was so good the food in Xiaomao's space was not needed.

Qi An's words were good news for Qi Jingchen. His smile further deepened.

"By the way, boss, when I came over earlier, I heard someone calling you the son of god. Why would they call you that?" Qi An curiously asked.

"Son of god!" Xiaomao stretched out her hands towards Qi Jingchen, revealing a sweet smile. She had always liked Qi Jingchen, and his importance to her was second only to Qi An.

Xiaomao wanted Qi Jingchen to hold her. Qi An let go of her but the little monkey blocked her before she could get close to Qi Jingchen.

The little monkey revealed a fierce look, showing its teeth and not letting Xiaomao get close to Qi Jingchen.

"Monkey!" Xiaomao was not afraid of the little monkey at all. In fact, because the little monkey had a lot of light energy on its body and exuded a pleasant plant scent, she hugged the little monkey tightly. "Hug!"

"Ooh ooh ah ah!" The little monkey struggled to escape. It held a vine seed, and grew it quickly to entangle Xiaomao.

Xiaomao was wrapped in the vine, but she laughed happily, putting the vine into her space. She ignored the monkey's futile attempts to free itself, hugging it tightly.

The situation was already ridiculous, but she even went a step further by bringing the monkey to Qi An and saying, "Eat!" with her mouth watering.

Qi An quickly said, "You can’t eat it."

"Ah?" Xiaomao put down the monkey, disappointed.

"What have you been teaching her?" Qi Jingchen looked at Qi An speechlessly.

"Don't be like that, boss. We’ve eaten monkey together before, haven't we?" Qi An looked at Qi Jingchen, recalling that they’d stuffed everything they could fit into their mouths before!

After careful consideration, Qi Jingchen realized that this was indeed the case.

"Let's go eat squirrels." Xiaomao said to Qi An.

"Okay!" Qi An nodded, "Although, squirrels have too much fur and too little meat, so they’re not worth it. Let’s try other things."

"Mhm," Xiaomao nodded repeatedly.

Qi Jingchen picked up the shivering little monkey and left his room.

The mutant tiger bit a fighter, and it was time to help treat his wounds.

The fighter was injured last night, but Qi Jingchen only went to treat him now for a reason. Although light energy could dispel dark energy, it was not as effective at healing.

Qi Jingchen found that light energy might heal wounds, but if a person's bone was broken, it wouldn't also align the bone. If the broken bone was not properly aligned during healing, then it could heal crooked.

The person’s shoulder was bitten by the tiger and the bone was shattered. Therefore Qi Jingchen could not simply treat him. But now that the orthopedic surgeon had cleaned up the broken bones in the man's shoulder, Qi Jingchen used his ability to quickly heal his wound.

"Son of god!" The man’s shoulder was healed and he sprung off the bed excitedly. He knelt before Qi Jingchen, "Thank you, son of god!" Hearing someone call Qi Jingchen son of god in his presence, he called him son of god as well.

Qi Jingchen did not object to this. He just helped the man up, "Rest well."

"Yes, son of god!"

That day, the title son of god spread throughout the entire camp. Many people no longer called Qi Jingchen by his given name but instead called him "son of god."

By that evening, everyone knew this title, and also learned that a child appeared next to the son of god out of thin air. So perhaps the child was the son of god's attendant...

"Big Brother, you are so amazing. Many people believe that you really are the son sent by the God of Light to save the world!" Qi An said proudly, "They also say that Xiaomao and I are the son of god's golden boy and jade girl... but the pantheon of these two gods doesn't match! The son of god should be accompanied by angels!"

"Don't talk during meals," Nie Yi said irritably.

Qi An shut up and reached for the back leg of the turtle on the table, only for Nie Yi to snatch it and give it to Qi Jingchen, along with its front leg.

Qi An sulkily grabbed the turtle's head and ate it.

The next day, Qi Jingchen and his team set out.

Those who were told by Nie Yi not to follow them felt a glimmer of hope and wanted to follow. Although Qi Jingchen did not drive them away, he and his team completely ignored them and did not ask the patrol soldiers to protect them.

Feng Xun regretted it very much, but could only grit his teeth and follow.

"Captain Feng, the children and elderly in the team can't keep up," someone came to report to Feng Xun.

"Carry them and walk faster," Feng Xun said, sighing. There were not many cars in their safe area, and many of the elderly rode in the cars that Nie Yi and Qi Jingchen collected along the way, but now they had no seats.

But even so, they had to follow.

There were not many zombies in the area. The people followed the large team and, although they were tired and exhausted, they managed to barely keep up. It was just that at the moment, they were full of regret.

They were forced to live a hard life instead of enjoying a good one.

And their regret reached its peak when they found out that the food given to the large team had improved.

Speaking of which, the improvement in the large team's food was all thanks to Xiaomao. She had a lot of delicious food in her space and took some out, immediately improving the food situation of the large team.

"I never thought I could eat an egg again!" The patrol team members received a pickled egg each. Although the egg had passed its shelf life, its taste had not changed. As they ate it, they naturally felt excited.

"Yes!" Everyone echoed, their faces full of happiness. "All of this is thanks to the son of god! The son of god is really amazing!"

That evening, Qi Jingchen had a wind ability user help him preach the extensive teachings of the God of Light in the middle of the camp.

Qi Jingchen did not believe in gods, but at this point, humanity really needed a faith to unite and constrain them.

The teachings of the God of Light were completely different from those of the Dark God. For example, the Dark God encouraged followers to kill all non-believers and believed that those who did not believe in the Dark God should die, but the teachings that Qi Jingchen wrote for the God of Light were the opposite.

Qi Jingchen told them that those who were able to help someone in danger should do so, and they should never rob or harm others for their own benefit.

Of course, if they were in danger, they must resist, especially when faced with people from the God of Darkness.

The doctrine of the Dark Cult allowed people to freely release their inner wildness, so many people were willing to believe in it, but in fact, the doctrine of the Light cult was easier to accept.

Humans still hoped to see some beauty. In the previous life, didn't humans unite in the end? It was not uncommon for people to share their food with others.

Many people who previously only admired Qi Jingchen began to truly believe in him. And this kind of thing was contagious. When the people around also believed in the light cult, even the original atheists started to believe.

"Son of god, we will arrive at R City this afternoon." Shi Shiqing found Qi Jingchen and expressed his excitement.

"I know." Qi Jingchen nodded, then looked at Shi Shiqing with amusement. "Why don't you call me Qi Shao?"

"I think you really are the chosen one," Shi Shiqing said. "I know that you all have been reborn. Why would only you be reborn? Maybe through God's will."

Qi Jingchen was stunned. After hearing Shi Shiqing's words, even he found himself believing that he was actually chosen by God. Although he suffered a lot in his previous life at first, he had lived recklessly later and became the last living person in the world. And this life was way better... Qi Jingchen narrowed his eyes. He also had ambitions now.

Qi Jingchen planned to build his own city near R City.

R City was not far from his secret base in the Dabie Mountains, and they had previously come here to get supplies and kill zombies, making it a suitable place to stay. Of course, he had other reasons for choosing this place, namely the many farmlands near R City.

Although R City was not small, its commerce was weak and there were not many factories. Only various farm products were very abundant... Before the apocalypse, many young people in R City went to work in other places, so there were not many zombies in R City.

As long as this city was cleaned up, it was perfect for accommodating the people he brought here...

Of course, before that, he still had to do one thing...

For many days, Feng Xun's safe zone and a couple others followed behind Nie Yi and Qi Jingchen because they weren't accepted.

Qi Jingchen let the people from the patrol team help them, but not too much. They could only form their own patrol team. However, their patrol personnel were not blessed by Qi Jingchen, meaning the zombies naturally had no fear, resulting in high casualties…

Qi Jingchen wouldn't stand by and watch people die. He would help treat the injured and half-zombified, but many people were not injured, they just directly died...

When Qi Jingchen came over, their situation was dire. Many people knelt down and called him son of god.

When Qi Jingchen had treated them kindly and amicably, they hadn't taken him seriously. Now that Qi Jingchen was not treating them well, giving them only the occasional help, they believed in Qi Jingchen, and was increasingly devout.

Qi Jingchen could only speechlessly feel that some people were just ridiculous.

According to his original plan, Qi Jingchen staged a show and forgave these people.

He watched coldly, said some pompous words he himself felt were strange, and then blessed them: "As long as you are devout enough, God will forgive you."

These people looked excitedly at him, their eyes full of fervor. At that moment, Qi Jingchen felt himself getting stronger.

He continued cycling his ability while closing his eyes and carefully monitoring his state with his spiritual power. He felt the presence of a white light.

The white light was sparse, and it spread to every part of his body. It was very difficult to sense. If it weren't for the sudden surge earlier, he might not have noticed it.

Although the white light seemed small and sparse, it increased the speed of recovering his ability by a lot...

Qi Jingchen sprinkled all of these people whom he had previously expelled with light energy, and then returned to his camp to bless the people who had supported him from the beginning.

This was a huge undertaking. But because of the sparse white light within, Qi Jingchen was able to persist.

After he was done blessing everyone, Qi Jingchen closed his eyes again, and his whole body began to glow.

Nie Yi saw this and was a bit worried, but his spiritual link with Qi Jingchen gave him the sense that this was a good thing.

White light flickered around Qi Jingchen's body, making him not look like a regular human, but more like a divine being.

Qi Jingchen opened his eyes, and the glow around his body did not dissipate. Even the area around his ability nucleus was surrounded by a dense mist-like white light, like a light bulb.

This was a sign that his ability had reached level five. From now on, he would gradually possess his own domain.

Of course, he could only support a protective shield for now. A protective shield that was close to the surface of his body.

Chapter 134 The Divine Child

That night, the survivors in the camp were nervous and on edge.

The sudden appearance of the tiger earlier scared the ordinary people into staying indoors and not daring to go out. And then someone even attacked Qi Jingchen...

It was only at that moment that these people recalled that it was the end of the world, where danger and death were common occurrences.

They were able to travel safely before, and it was all thanks to Qi Jingchen and the patrol soldiers blessed by him.

Many people felt uneasy.

The young man who was released by Shi Qing walked back to his settlement in the safe zone, and was stopped by an acquaintance: "Xiaofeng, you're back?"

The young man was a little dazed, staring at the woman in her thirties for a while before asking, "Ah?"

The woman saw that the once very clever young man was now in a daze and felt sorry for him, "What happened to your sister? Weren't you being held captive?"

He remained silent. Although he had been kept watched during the day, they had not done anything to him. He even had contact with the person who he suspected had harassed his sister...

That person named Yu Xuguang, even though he touched her head, seemed to really not have ill intentions towards his sister.

He didn't know whether Qi Jingchen was good or bad, but at least Qi Jingchen had not harmed him. It was the Zhao Shu he had trusted, who had coaxed him into doubting Qi Jingchen, by saying bad things about him in front of him.

But he has not cared about his life or death.

His beloved sister had disappeared, and it was likely due to his gullibility. This gave the young man a feeling of despair.

At this moment, other people came over, looking at him curiously.

It was only then that the young man snapped back to reality and suddenly asked, "How did my sister run away that day?"

"We don't know. She seemed to want to go out and look for food with you," someone replied.

"We didn't pay attention to her at the time and she disappeared in the blink of an eye. Who took her?" another person asked.

"It should have been the tiger," the young man said.

So the reason why someone disappeared in the camp was because of that tiger? Why didn't anyone explain?

These people were all a little confused and some of them even felt guilty, thinking that they had talked too much during the day. However, they also felt that this was related to Qi Jingchen and the others not explaining...

They had never seen that tiger before, so it was normal for them to speculate.

No matter what everyone was thinking, the night soon passed.

Morning came, and the people in the camp packed their bags and waited for the team to set off, but the team didn't move...what was going on?

"I'm going to sleep in today." Qi Jingchen pushed away Nie Yi's face with his own. He had gotten up in the middle of the night to catch the tiger, and had even "deeply" communicated with Nie Yi. He was very tired now and didn't want to get up.

Of course, more importantly, he also wanted to take the opportunity to fish out those who had benefited but weren't grateful. Thinking of this, Qi Jingchen pulled Nie Yi over again. Without opening his eyes, he leaned in to kiss Nie Yi on the face. "Today, I'll trouble you to play the villain."

Nie Yi was softened by Qi Jingchen's cute behavior and also kissed Qi Jingchen back before forcing himself to leave Qi Jingchen. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't let Qi Jingchen sleep!

After cooling himself down into being sober on the ice wall he had created, Nie Yi made an opening and walked out.

The tiger was still lying on the ground outside, but the little monkey was sleeping soundly on a nearby cabinet.

Nie Yi found a knife and skinned the tiger. He dug out the wind system crystal nucleus from the tiger's brain and kept it, then sent the remaining meat to the kitchen.

The people who had disappeared before were most likely eaten by this tiger.

At this point, many animals in the wilderness carried varying amounts of dark energy, and it was normal for this tiger to attack people in the camp, especially those who were not only not zombies, but had also absorbed light energy, aka Qi Jingchen's blessings. These mutated animals were attracted to the benefits of light energy.

"Little Nie, tiger meat is good meat, are you really not going to keep any?" People in the kitchen couldn't help asking. This was meat! They were all drooling.

"This tiger ate people," Nie Yi said. He didn't have a good impression of things that had eaten people. He would give the meat to the patrol soldiers so that they could strengthen their bodies.

"So what? And because it ate people, we should eat it even more," people in the kitchen said. This was meat! They were all so hungry and craving it.
Nie Yi didn't really care about these things. He had no pressure to eat everything, but when he thought about Qi Jingchen... it wouldn't hurt to eat a little less meat. 💥💥

"Anyway, don't leave any for me. When you distribute it, let the people below know where the meat came from," Nie Yi said, then left.

The kitchen chopped up and boiled the tiger. Their group now had over 70,000 people. They had picked out 5,000 patrol soldiers, so each person couldn't get a piece of meat, but they could each get a bowl of meat soup.

The tiger meat and bones were cooked until they were soft, and some potatoes were added to make the soup thicker... everyone who received a bowl of soup cherished it and ate it slowly.

What? This tiger had eaten people before? As long as it wasn't human flesh, there was no problem.

These soldiers received Qi Jingchen's blessings every day, and they admired Qi Jingchen from the bottom of their hearts. After eating, they went out to find food and supplies nearby. They had no objections to not traveling today, but they did not know that their behavior made the remaining people more worried. Everyone was guessing what Qi Jingchen and the others were doing.

Why did they suddenly stop moving?

At this time, Nie Yi finally spoke, "There were many rumors in the safe zone yesterday saying that Qi Jingchen's abilities were problematic, that he secretly tied up people and used their lives to practice his abilities."

Nie Yi spoke with a loudspeaker, and the speakers that were placed in various locations around the camp amplified his voice and could be heard throughout the entire camp.

"Since you all think this way, then don't follow us!" Nie Yi said coldly.

At first, when everyone heard Nie Yi speak, they didn't think much of it; some even waited for Nie Yi to explain. However, as they heard Nie Yi's later words, they were shocked.

What? Nie Yi was going to drive them away?

"People from the SF safe zone said this, people from the WQ safe zone said this, and people from the KH safe zone said this. We only brought you along originally because you requested it. Since you don't trust us, then let's just split up and not follow each other anymore!" Nie Yi said.

Upon hearing Qi Jingchen's words, those people were furious, and only now did they realize the benefits of following this team.

Moreover, it was only a rumor that someone had disappeared, and they had not even seen it. What's more, back then, more people died when they didn't follow this team!

They had doubts about Qi Jingchen yesterday, but they didn't dare to doubt him now, and wanted to think of a way to stay.

However, Nie Yi didn't care about them at all and left after saying those words.

Shi Shiqing saw this and smiled, then walked out.

Their living area was at the center of the camp, and there were many people outside who were concerned. "Is Qi Shao okay?"

"Yes, is Qi Shao okay? Those people yesterday were so despicable!"

"And those who spread the rumors weren't any good either."

These were all people who truly appreciated Qi Jingchen. Most of them were from the safe zone where Shi Kun originally lived. Yesterday, during the day, they had been angry at those who spread rumors. Yesterday evening, they had planned to come and protect Qi Jingchen, and this morning they had come to comfort him.

"I caught a turtle and I'm making soup for Qi Shao." A tall man who squeezed out from among the people said. Shi Shiqing recognized him as the one who had been treated by Qi Jingchen for a leg injury.

He was an ability user. After his leg injury had healed, he had joined the patrol team, and worked long hours every day. Even with this, he still had the energy to catch a turtle for Qi Jingchen. He was definitely very concerned about Qi Jingchen.

Seeing these people, Shi Shiqing felt better, but still followed what he had previously discussed with Nie Yi and Qi Jingchen, saying, "Although Qi Shao has abilities, he doesn't have any offensive power. It was already hard on him when he used up his ability every day for everyone's safety, and yesterday there was such an incident... he isn't feeling well today."

Upon hearing this, the people were immediately infuriated. Seeing the situation, Shi Shiqing added, "But don't worry too much. Qi Shao isn't seriously ill."

"We know." The man who brought the turtle said coldly and left, and the others followed him out.

Not long after these people left, news spread in the camp that Qi Jingchen was sick due to yesterday's rumors. Some people beat those who had said the most bad things about him.

Those who had been beaten had spoken ill of Qi Jingchen with righteous indignation previously. They insisted that Qi Jingchen was not a good person and that he could not possibly help them for no reason. There must be some secret that they couldn't reveal. But now, even if they were beaten, they dared not say anything.

They didn't want to be driven out.

The heads of several safe zones who were named by Nie Yi were also worried.

They had been dissatisfied, because after joining Qi Jingchen's team, someone was always telling their subordinates about how good Qi Jingchen was. Previously, when their own subordinates spoke ill of Qi Jingchen, they didn't stop them.

In their eyes, Qi Jingchen was a very gentle person who was willing to help others for free. He was a truly kind person. Even if he got angry, he wouldn't do anything to them. However... Nie Yi was actually going to drive them away.

"We definitely can't leave. But is there any way we can stay?"

"That Nie Yi doesn't seem easy to talk to... What if we tie up those who spoke ill of him and send them to Qi Jingchen as an apology?” Feng Xun suggested.

Feng Xun was hesitating when a young man in his twenties suddenly rushed in. The young man had thick eyebrows and big eyes, similar to Feng Xun. As soon as he came in, he glanced discontentedly at Feng Xun and said, "Dad, how could you let those people speak ill of young master Qi? Young master Qi has helped us so much!"

Seeing his own son worshiping Qi Jingchen like that, Feng Xun felt a little heartbroken. "Although those rumors were unfair to young master Qi, you can't talk to your own father like that?"

"Dad, I'm doing this for all of us! Now that there are zombies outside, I'm afraid only young master Qi can lead us to defeat them!" The young man argued.

"What's the point? They are driving us away now. What else can we do?" Feng Xun felt a little annoyed seeing his son admire Qi Jingchen so much.

"We can go apologize to Qi Jingchen?" the young man suggested. But as soon as he spoke, exclamations were heard outside. After they went out, they found out that someone had turned into a zombie.

This kind of thing was not uncommon, but it had rarely happened these days, so everyone didn't react immediately.

"How could someone suddenly turn into a zombie?" Feng Xun asked frowningly as he watched someone killing the zombie.

"We don't know." The one who killed the zombie said.

"Did he eat something unclean?" Feng Xun asked again.

"He brought back some soybeans from outside and ate them fried. I saw that the beans seemed not so good, but he said he'd eaten them before without any problem." A person who had a good relationship with the one who had turned into a zombie said.

"Although he didn't turn into a zombie before, when young master Qi blessed him, he told him not to eat indiscriminately." Another person added.

"..."

As they heard what the person said, everyone present fell silent. If the beans the guy ate were problematic, then that meant that he only didn't turn into a zombie before because Qi Jingchen had blessed him…

Qi Jingchen's blessing was so useful, yet they had had evil thoughts and made assumptions about him. It was really unacceptable.

"I'm injured." Just then, someone exclaimed. Looking over, they found that one of the people who had just fought with the zombie had his hand scratched by the zombie.

"I'm not a person with abilities. Will I turn into a zombie?" the man asked, his eyes full of panic, feeling that there was something wrong with his body.

"Go find young master Qi!" Feng Xun's son immediately said.

Feng Xun nodded. By begging, they could observe Qi Jingchen's attitude, to see if he really didn't plan to care about them anymore.

The group soon arrived near Qi Jingchen's residence but was stopped by Nie Yi. "Stop. What do you want to do?"

"He was scratched by a zombie. Can young master Qi take a look at him?" Feng Xun's son asked. "Nie Yi, please. We're begging you."

"Jingchen is resting!" Nie Yi said. "People injured by the tiger yesterday haven't received treatment yet. Why should he get special treatment?"

Nie Yi was familiar with most of the people who believed in Qi Jingchen, but he had never seen this person who was about to turn into a zombie.

Nie Yi was always cold when talking to others. At this moment, his imposing manner was even more on display, making the others feel somewhat helpless. Feng Xun was suppressed by Nie Yi's manner and felt embarrassed. His son was also ashamed and couldn't say anything. Just then, Yu Xuguang came running out from the side, "You're all bad guys. Bad people will turn into zombies!"

After hearing Yu Xuguang’s words, Feng Xun blushed at first and then became scared. Being injured by a zombie accidentally was too normal in this apocalypse. If Qi Jingchen were here, they could still be saved. But what if they left Qi Jingchen?

Feng Xun broke out in a cold sweat.

"I'll save him." Qi Jingchen at this time walked out from inside. He was wearing a simple white robe, without any decorations or sacred text, but everyone present somehow still felt that they could trust him and calmed down.

"But if you have objections to me, you'll have to take care of yourselves in the future."

While speaking, Qi Jingchen threw a light ball onto the half zombified person.

The half-zombified person slowly began to return to normal, and finally knelt in front of Qi Jingchen, "Thank you. It was wrong. I am so sorry..."

Yesterday, he had also doubted Qi Jingchen. But looking at Qi Jingchen's appearance now and feeling the bright energy enter his body, he suddenly understood why so many people would believe in Qi Jingchen.

"Son of god, I was wrong before." The person called out, subconsciously using the name he had previously heard to address Qi Jingchen.

People in the safe area where Shi Kun was located had heard of dark religious cults and knew that there was such a Saintess in the dark religious cult. Later, when people saw Qi Jingchen, some people privately called him the son of god.

This name was gradually accepted by more and more people, but no one called him that in front of Qi Jingchen.

"Son of god?" Qi Jingchen repeated the phrase, and suddenly felt that the title was not bad.

"Big Brother!" Just at this moment, Qian An appeared beside Qi Jingchen out of nowhere, holding Xiaomao.

The Perfect Relationship Ch 90

🍁 The Perfect Relationship 🍁 by Xi He Qing Ling

Chapter 90 Time Flies

While everyone was at a loss, the screenwriter rubbed his chin and said, "Since Yin Chang insists on playing the blind person, why not let the blind person be the male lead?"

The producer asked, "Are you going to change it so that the blind person is with the female lead?"

"No, no, no," the screenwriter explained, "the blind person doesn't need to be with anyone. Honestly, while Jiang Li and Lin Qiqi may be the main characters in your eyes because they have the most screen time, from the perspective of the novel, the blind person is the soul of the story, and all other characters are supporting roles."

In fact, the screenwriter's original intention in creating this story was to write about the blind person. Whether it was the female lead looking for love in the square, the male #2 and male #3 attracted to the beauty and temperament of the female lead, or the male lead who appeared to be the perfect match for the female lead, they all existed to play off the blind person. So, when he heard that Yin Chang had been chosen for this role, while others didn't understand, the screenwriter felt that Yin Chang had a good eye.

The producer didn't fully understand, "So, how do you want to change it?"

"We don't need to change anything," the screenwriter said, "just change the name of the movie."

"To what?" asked the director.

"The Blessing from Mr. Blind," the screenwriter replied.

After further thought, everyone realized: yes, now the audience can know that the blind person is the main character, so it would only be natural that the blind person is handsome and has a strong presence!

The screenwriter thought for a moment and said, "We can be even bolder--why can't the female lead notice Yin Chang's existence? Maybe Yin Chang isn't even alive..."

The producer was confused. "What do you mean?"

"He died in a car accident and what's sitting there is his soul," the screenwriter explained. "We can shoot the scene twice. In the first take, Yin Chang is sitting there. In the second take, Yin Chang is not there. At the end of the movie, we can edit a flashback from a normal person's perspective. In fact, there was never a blind person at the square."

The director exclaimed, "This is a great idea!"

This way, it made sense for the female lead not to see Yin Chang.

"I hate to pour cold water on you, but the ghost theme won't pass the censorship," the producer wiped sweat off his forehead.

"Damn it..." the director grumbled and continued, "wait! We can assume that the female lead saw the blind person, but never paid attention to him. After she and the male lead get together, they go for a walk one day and find the blind person gone. She then tells the male lead, 'I used to see a handsome blind person sitting over there, but I haven't seen him for a long time.' The male lead says, 'Oh? Really? I've never seen him before.' We can present this scene as a post-credit Easter egg, leaving the audience hanging--is the blind person a real person or a soul, and let the audience interpret it themselves!"

The producer gave two thumbs up. "This is a stroke of genius!"

After the problem was solved perfectly, everyone's morale was boosted, and the production continued as planned.

In the early summer of late spring, Yin Chang's portrayal of the blind character "Yu Shuqing" officially wrapped up.

In September, the film, which was renamed The Blessing from Mr. Blind, completed post-production and was approved. It was released on Valentine's Day the following year.

In November, Yin Chang recorded the theme song titled "I Hope You Are Happier Without Me" for the movie.

Before the movie was released, Yin Chang and Shao Junling watched a sample together at home. When they saw the scene where the blind man cried, Yin Chang himself was moved.

"How about it?" Yin Chang leaned back on the couch with his long arms and imperial posture. "Your bro has great acting skills, right?"

Shao Junling asked in confusion, "Did you really cry?"

Yin Chang's tone was tinged with a bit of pride. "Of course."

He was so immersed in the character that he was genuinely emotional. It was a pity that he cried while wearing sunglasses, so his eyes couldn't be seen.

"But why did you cry and walk away?" Shao Junling asked.

Yin Chang struggled to explain. "Because there is someone better than me to take care of the person I love, and I was deeply touched, but also very sad because that person no longer belongs to me, so I had to walk away... do you understand?"

Shao Junling replied, "I don't understand."

It wasn't until Yin Chang was reeling from Shao Junling's confusion that he realized he was talking about love to a teenager who didn't get it at all!

"Forget it, you're still young. You'll understand when you grow up." Yin Chang was speechless.

🍁

Perhaps Yin Chang was too lucky, or maybe Yao Manhuai had a pair of miracle hands in the entertainment industry--The Blessing from Mr. Blind achieved unprecedented success after its release.

For a time, there were numerous discussion articles about "true love" on platforms such as Douban, Zhihu, and WeChat. The blind character "Yu Shuqing," a passionate and heart-wrenching role, was praised as "one of the male leads with the fewest lines but the strongest presence" by the media.

Yin Chang's look, with sunglasses, a crutch, and a ashy gray windbreaker also became popular online within a month, making him the dream lover of many girls.
Especially when the heroine accepted Jiang Li's confession, the scene where Yin Chang's cheeks were wet was like a heart-wrenching typhoon!

What was even more excessive was that when Yin Chang, as the blind man, clutched his cane and left, the film used a light and melodious violin background music. It created a strong contrast between the happy music and the lonely figure.

"All the advantages of Yu Shuqing's character, such as being gentle, selfless, and silently waiting... have been perfectly embodied in Yin Chang. Thank you, Yin Chang, for portraying such a wonderful person. Although you are not Yu Shuqing, in my mind, the two of you have completely overlapped."

"If Yu Shuqing really looked like Yin Chang, even if he was blind, I'd still go for him! I'd love him for a lifetime!"

"When I watched the movie, I really cried... Why did such a good person have to die? Sob..."

🍁

Yin Chang made a strong entry into the film and television circle with this movie. Because he had fun during the filming process, Yin Chang began to focus on acting. In the following years, he starred in several movies in a row.

At the same time, Shao Junling also began to skip grades like Mr. Lin had predicted.

The primary school department of De International was a five-year system. Shao Junling completed the remaining four years of the primary school department in two years, and then skipped a grade in junior high school. At the age of fifteen, he passed the school's high school entrance exam.

Compared with Yin Chang, who was often exposed in the media, Shao Junling completely disappeared from the audience's sight after the variety show "Super Star Life". Occasionally, when paparazzi tracked Yin Chang and accidentally caught Shao Junling in the process, Yao Manhuai's publicity team would suppress it online rigorously for the following days. The only exception was when Shao Junling graduated from primary school. Yin Chang finished work early that day and quietly attended his graduation ceremony. When Shao Junling went on stage to receive his graduation certificate, Yin Chang was moved to tears in the audience. Later, they discovered that other parents had taken pictures and uploaded them online. They accidentally became popular topics, such as "Shao Junling finished primary school in two years" and "Yin Chang cried at his brother's graduation ceremony". After that, Yin Chang was labelled as having  a case of "brother complex".

Time flew, and five years passed in the blink of an eye.

24-year-old Yin Chang firmly established his position in the film and television industry. Although the several movies and TV series he participated in were not all blockbusters, nor were all of the roles he played the main character, each one was his favorite and he poured all his heart into them. With the improvement of his acting skills, some professional filmmakers and popular film critics gradually began to acknowledge Yin Chang's real strength as the son of a movie king.

As for Shao Junling, he transformed from an 11-year-old cute little boy who became famous because of "Super Star Life" to a handsome 16 year old teenager. His features opened up, and he grew taller – yes, the little guy's growth period finally arrived after the junior high school entrance exam, and within a few years, he grew visibly to 1.75 meters. Especially in the last two years of junior high school and high school, whenever Yin Chang came home and saw Shao Junling, he would instinctively gesture with his hand, wondering if his brother had grown taller again.

Yin Chang's mood was slightly conflicted about this. When Shao Junling was still a little boy, he was worried about his poor development, but now that Shao Junling was grown, he found himself missing his brother's cuteness when he was younger.

One of the un-cute aspects of Shao Junling was his more prominent personality.

Before, Shao Junling really listened to Yin Chang. Although his personality was awkward, he was very cooperative with Yin Chang. For example, in terms of clothing, Yin Chang would habitually pick out some good-looking clothes for him according to his own aesthetics, and Shao Junling would wear them all. But now, the little guy had his own opinions. He either thoughr the clothes Yin Chang picked out were too trendy, or the colors too bright, or that he just didn't want to wear them.

Yin Chang got angry and stopped caring about him, letting him buy whatever he wanted to wear. As a result, he bought a bunch of average-priced mass produced clothing online, and all the colors were either black or gray... He loved to appear serious at such a young age, and it made Yin Chang feel helpless.

Moreover, when he was in junior high school, Shao Junling obtained a third-level black belt in Taekwondo, and then went on to learn Sanda and Muay Thai. Now he was "proficient in martial arts".

A few days ago, for some reason, Yin Chang wanted to rub Shao Junling's head, but before he could touch him, the little guy grabbed his wrist. Yin Chang was surprised, and then stretched out his other hand to pinch his face, but Shao Junling didn't let go. Rather, he pushed Yin Chang off balance.

Yin Chang sat on the bed, angry, "Hey, you don't even let me touch you now?"

Shao Junling was stunned for two seconds before letting go. He gave a crooked smile, "You ambushed me first."

Yin Chang was confused, "How did I ambush you? Do you think I'm a thief?"

Shao Junling stared at him for a while before embarrassedly saying, "No," leaving Yin Chang completely bewildered.

On this day, Yin Chang received a call from Mr. He, Shao Junling's high school advisor. He told Yin Chang that the high school student team led by Mr. De won first place in the F 💥💥

That day, Yin Chang received a call from De International. After a five-year gap, the person contacting him now was no longer Teacher Lin, but a male teacher surnamed He.

Teacher He was Shao Junling's high school advisor. He informed Yin Chang over the phone that the high school team led by De International had won first place in the FRC Robotics Challenge. As a result of this achievement, Shao Junling, as a core member of the team, had attracted the attention of two renowned foreign universities.

Teacher He asked Yin Chang whether he had considered sending Shao Junling abroad for university studies. De International had a specialized preparatory program for overseas universities, even down to specific majors. If they were considering going abroad, they needed to make arrangements soon.

This was not the first time they had discussed Shao Junling's future direction with Yin Chang. They had talked about it once last year when Shao Junling just started school. At that time, Teacher He carefully analyzed Shao Junling's academic progress under De International's guidance—his mathematics and computer skills were excellent. Through years of math competitions, Shao Junling had acquired advanced mathematical knowledge. In the later years of primary school, he began exploring programming. In junior high, he joined De International's robotics design group, and loved it. Over the course of two years, he and his teammates participated in numerous domestic high school robotics design competitions and won awards.

Teacher He mentioned that AI design and research were important fields in future technology. It was a suitable major for Shao Junling to study. However, he openly acknowledged that research in this area was more advanced abroad than in China, making studying abroad the best choice.

Yin Chang felt both proud of Shao Junling's excellence and reluctant to see his younger brother leave to study in a foreign country. But this matter concerned the little one's future, and Yin Chang couldn't afford to be too selfish. At the time, he calmly asked Shao Junling for his thoughts. Surprisingly, Shao Junling expressed without hesitation that he wanted to stay in China for university.

Yin Chang: You'll understand when you grow up.

Shao Junling: Even when I grow up, I won't understand. If something is mine, I should seize it. Crying and leaving is just too weak.

Boss's Death Guide Ch 133

🔥 Boss's Death Guide 🔥 by Jue Jue

Chapter 133 Tiger

"Take him away and investigate what happened to his sister." Nie Yi's eyes were full of disgust as he made the decision for Qi Jingchen.

Jingchen was in the middle of dinner. He shouldn't be bothered by such a person.

Qi Jingchen didn't object to Nie Yi's decision and agreed. Since this person had hostility towards him, there was no need for him to show any kindness. He did not have the hobby of trying to be liked by everyone.

With many subordinates, their efficiency was high. In no time, Qi Jingchen received a report that the young man's sister really was missing--she had left her house with someone else not long ago and hadn't been back since. And with this investigation, it was discovered that there was more than just the young man's sister missing. In fact, they had lost several people in their group in the past few days. Almost one person went missing every day. The missing people were mostly those who stayed outside at night or went outside, and some of them were blessed by Qi Jingchen before their disappearances.

After learning of this, Nie Yi and Qi Jingchen's faces immediately turned cold. "Why wasn't this reported?" Nie Yi asked.

"Only one or two people went missing so no one paid attention." Shi Qing explained. There were too many people dying in this apocalyptic world--even though they had Qi Jingchen to cure others, soldiers still died every day. If they were dragged away by fourth-level zombies, even if they were saved, they would most likely already be completely zombified!

"Everyone, be on guard and find out the reason!" Nie Yi ordered. Qi Jingchen wanted loyalty and to build a city of their own. But this happened, and he didn't know if it was intentional or not.

That night, many patrol officers were added to the entire campsite to find the reason, but then there were no more anomalies or missing people.

The team set off the next day as scheduled. At the same time, there were several rumors spreading within the team--Qi Jingchen's ability was actually evil, and people disappeared from their team every day. Many believed in Qi Jingchen but there was also a group of people who did not. Especially several people who had joined the safety zone later on were all very worried, afraid of being ambushed.

The team's morale, which had been good, changed and some people began to disobey orders.

A woman found Qi Jingchen and told him about the rumors. "Rumors say that after you kidnapped the girl, you also kidnapped her brother to cover up the truth... But I will always believe in you!"

"Thank you." Qi Jingchen smiled at her and gave her a blessing.

All of this seemed coincidental, but with some thought... There were probably some people who had malice towards him mixed in his team.

As for who sent those people... Other than Yao Mengzhi, who else could it be? He knew that Yao Mengzhi would never give up.

But it was also good. If a ship sailed too smoothly all the time, it would capsize when it encountered a big wave. But if it experienced a little wind and wave at the beginning, it could persevere even when it encountered big waves in the future!

Qi Jingchen comforted those who believed in him but did not stop the spread of rumors.

He just didn't care, but Nie Yi cared a lot and was irate.

The truck was surrounded by curtains, creating a separate space. Nie Yi paced back and forth in this space, clenching his fists, his anger tangible.

"They should all be thrown down to feed the zombies!" Nie Yi couldn't help but say.

"Don't be angry." Qi Jingchen said.

"How can I not be angry!" Nie Yi coldly snorted.

"When we were all shouting for the killing of street rats before, I didn't see you angry like this," Qi Jingchen said.

"I was angry at the time, didn't I kill a lot of people?" Nie Yi retorted, snickering twice.

It seemed to be true... In the end, Qi Jingchen could only stand up and hug Nie Yi, giving him a kiss.

Nie Yi was no longer angry. He hugged Qi Jingchen back and even reached out to touch him.

After noticing Qi Jingchen's body's response, he said, "It's not safe here. We should be careful and alert." It was probably a bad idea to fool around in the truck.

"What do you think you 're doing?" Qi Jingchen slapped Nie Yi's hand away. "If you have so much leisure, we should discuss what we should do next." He definitely didn't have the hobby of fooling around in an unstable car!

"What are you thinking?" Nie Yi asked.

"I was too easy on everyone before. It's time to use a stronger approach." Qi Jingchen said.

The teenager was still being watched by someone, and Qi Jingchen had not let him out. That night, he strengthened the patrols and replaced all of them with soldiers who greatly respected him.

These soldiers had been very busy during the day and found it difficult to stay awake for night watch. But after Qi Jingchen blessed each and every one of them, they became rejuvenated.

Nothing happened at first, but in the second half of the night, a patrolman was attacked by a mutant tiger.

It was a yellow-black striped mutant tiger with a very large build and it had a wind ability!

Wind abilities had different focuses. Some were good at using wind blades to attack, while others used it to increase their speed. This mutant tiger seemed to be particularly good at using it's wind ability to accelerate its speed.

It charged and bit off the shoulder of a patrolman, trying to drag him away. It failed because others intervened so it used its wind ability to dodge and weave.

Qi Jingchen arranged many patrolmen to form a large encirclement to prevent the mutant tiger from escaping, but they still struggled to catch it. In fact, after it found that fleeing would only lead to being surrounded, it began to run towards the camp.

The whole camp was in chaos.

Qi Jingchen had someone turn on the generator and hang a fluorescent light they called "little sun" high up to light up  the entire camp.

Many people came out of their homes. Most couldn't see the tiger, but some who could shouted, "Tiger! There's a tiger!"

A tiger suddenly appeared in their campsite! Everyone was frightened, and they scrambled to hide in their houses, but no one linked the tiger's existence with the rumors from the daytime.

The tiger was very intelligent. It burrowed into the crowds of ordinary survivors but did not bite them. Biting would only slow it down or cause it to be vulnerable instead of ready to attack. So instead of biting, it scared the survivors, causing them to flee in all directions and create mayhem for the people pursuing it.

Nie Yi took action.

The mutant tiger was of a very high level, and it would be difficult for people to catch it if he didn't take action.

The tiger was very fast, but Nie Yi, who had strong spiritual strength, predicted its landing points in advance and kept up with it!

Even so, he didn't dare attack because the tiger kept running into the crowds. At this very moment, suddenly a group of people rushed towards where Qi Jingchen was, trying to attack him!

If Nie Yi wanted to save Qi Jingchen, he needed to release the tiger. No, even if Nie Yi released the tiger, he might not be able to come back in time to save Qi Jingchen!

"Die!" Those who suddenly rushed out shouted.

"Fight, fight!" Ryan and others stood in front of Qi Jingchen and fought them back.

The foreigners were able to come over from afar, and each of them were very strong. Plus, Qi Jingchen intended to tame them and had passed on his ideas borrowed from the Dark Church's teachings. Even knowing that Qi Jingchen had awoken to the power of light, they were willing to believe that there was a god of light in this world, giving them hope.

Those who tried to attack Qi Jingchen soon lost, but they were not discouraged even though they were surrounded and captured. The leader among them even laughed, "What if you win? We've done what we came to do!"

As he said this, he took out some grenades. "You better let us go, otherwise, we will die with you!"

"You think you've done what you came to do? That's not necessarily the case." Qi Jingchen smiled and had someone bring out Chu Zhen from behind him.

"How's that possible? He was sleeping in another room earlier..." The person threatening to toss the bomb was somewhat dazed. They clearly saw Chu Zhen taken to another room to sleep, how could he end up here?

Where were the people who went to save Chu Zhen?
"In this day and age, digging underground tunnels only takes a little extra ability." Qi Jingchen looked at the people in front of him and chuckled lightly.

The people were sent by Yao Mengzhi. They used a mutated tiger to lure away some of the combat force, then pretended to attack Qi Jingchen to attract a large number of fighters, before quietly rescuing Chu Zhen - Yao Mengzhi's weakness – he was the only one they actually wanted.

However, since Qi Jingchen was already on guard against Yao Mengzhi, he naturally took precautions...How could he allow Yao Mengzhi to easily take Chu Zhen away?

"Let's go!" The people who attacked Qi Jingchen shouted and ran out together, being careful with the bombs they held. Qi Jingchen's men did not stop them.

The eyes of the escaping people showed reluctance. When they were about to escape the camp, they suddenly turned around and threw the bombs in their hands towards the camp.

Their look of pride disappeared in a flash, probably wanting to see the people behind them being bombed. However, the bomb did not explode, but was blown back towards them by a wind ability that was far behind them.

Realizing this, their faces suddenly changed. Although they only had one wind ability user among themselves, Qi Jingchen had a group of them!

The bomb flew towards them, and exploded on their bodies…

The reality was that grenades were more or less useless as time went by. Unless it was something like a nuclear bomb, it would not be useful.

Miserable cries came from the fire, making the survivors in the safe zone feel a chill.

Nie Yi dragged the body of the tiger towards Qi Jingchen. He'd killed it by inserting an ice blade into its mouth. He coldly declared "I'll make a cushion out of its hide for you!"

"Don't be angry." Qi Jingchen smiled at Nie Yi.

Nie Yi didn't say anything, and Qi Jingchen said again, "Bring the tiger, let's go back."

Nie Yi picked up the tiger and followed Qi Jingchen back to their room.

"I also want you to stay with me, but if you don't leave my side occasionally, they probably won't dare to make a move...Who made you so powerful?" Qi Jingchen joked.

Nie Yi could guess the reason why he was angry. It was probably because Nie Yi had to kill the tiger before returning, and had to leave Qi Jingchen's side.

"I'm worried about you." Nie Yi said. Even if he knew that Qi Jingchen would be fine, he was still extremely worried.

"I know." Qi Jingchen kissed Nie Yi, "After all the excitement just now, I'm covered in sweat...Can you help me take a bath?"

Nie Yi didn't hesitate and started to help Qi Jingchen wash. And as they washed, anything else that happened was perfectly normal...

Their room was separated by an earth ability user, and it wasn't very big. However, because there was a tiger's body outside, Nie Yi used his ice ability to create a barrier and froze the area around the tiger.

While they were being intimate, the little monkey jumped around and even reached out to pull the tiger's ear. Now that the tiger was dead, the monkey swaggered around it.

Meanwhile, Shi Shiqing untied the rope around the boy's hands. "See? Your sister was probably eaten by the mutated tiger. That tiger may have been brought there by that Zhao guy who tried to kill Qi Shao and blow up the camp!"

The boy was stunned. After being locked up, he had been angry and felt that Qi Jingchen was, on the surface, a kind and compassionate person, but in reality a despicable and evil person. But what was the reality?

That Zhao uncle who told him that Qi Jingchen was not a good person, actually wanted to kill Qi Jingchen by luring him with a mutated tiger!

Did that mutated tiger really come because of that Zhao guy?

The boy's face was full of anger, sadness and despair - did those people want to trick him because they thought he was easy to fool and didn't believe in Qi Jingchen, so they deliberately allowed the tiger to eat his sister and make him make a scene?

He and his sister left no clues about where they lived. That meant she was called outside by someone she knew and trusted.

He moved away from Qi Jingchen and the others slowly, one step at a time. His back, which had been straight the whole time, was bent with sorrow.

As he watched the boy leave, Shi Shiqing turned back.

He didn't know whether the mutated tiger was brought there by Yao Mengzhi and the others, but it was undoubtedly that they wanted to use the mutated animal to rescue Chu Zhen.

If they were a little less cautious, the mutated tiger could have escaped, and the ability users would have had to chase after it…and then Chu Zhen might have really been rescued!

Of course, thinking about these things now was pointless. They should be taking advantage of this opportunity and reorganizing all the people in the camp.

Boss's Death Guide Ch 132

🔥 Boss's Death Guide 🔥 by Jue Jue

Chapter 132 Gone Missing

When facing Yu Xuguang, Qi Jingchen's emotions were a bit complicated.

He didn't care about Yu Xuguang's actions in his past life of trying to kill him, but he did care about how Yu Xuguang had trusted Yao Mengzhi and led them into an ambush, almost resulting in their deaths.

But Yu Xuguang was someone who only cared about what was best for humanity itself, which made Qi Jingchen feel helpless and unsure of what to do with him.

When he saw that Yu Xuguang had woken up, Qi Jingchen furrowed his brow, about to leave. However, before he could, his shirt was pulled back.

It was Yu Xuguang who grabbed onto his shirt, and looked up at him with bright and clear eyes, pure enough to make people's hearts skip a beat. Qi Jingchen had a bad feeling.

Yu Xuguang had awakened, but he was now cognitively impaired.

The nucleus resided deep inside an ability user's brain and was not easily moved. If Yu Xuguang blew up his own nucleus, it would hurt his brain beyond repair, leaving him a vegetable. But he had been lucky to survive, even though he was now cognitively impaired.

The foolish Yu Xuguang fixated on Qi Jingchen, forgetting everyone else around him.

His intellectual capabilities had regressed to that of a three or four-year-old child, and he didn't recognize anyone around him except for Qi Jingchen.

Fortunately, he was obedient. If Qi Jingchen didn't let him approach, he wouldn't dare approach and would quietly watch from a distance.

"Is Yu Xuguang really stupid now?" Nie Yi followed behind Qi Jingchen and frowned upon seeing the person who kept staring at them from afar.

No one would like having someone stare at them, and he certainly didn't want someone to stare at his lover.

"I think he is, his brain is damaged," Qi Jingchen said. He thought  Yu Xuguang might become a vegetable. He hadn't expected him to wake up as a fool.

"He's lucky to be alive; fate has been kind to him," Nie Yi sneered at Yu Xuguang from a distance. He couldn't be bothered dealing with someone who lost their nucleus and became a fool. As long as they stayed far away, he wouldn't affect them.

"You and I are also lucky," Qi Jingchen said, holding a pen and jotting on a notebook his plans for the future. Everyone had something they wanted to do after being reborn. Nie Yi had sought him out, and he, too, wished to make some changes and improve the world.

The team kept moving forward, and many people were already very tired. But they didn't stop and kept moving because everyone knew they had to keep going. Their pace wasn't particularly fast, but it wasn't too slow either.

Of course, compared to the convenient transportation options from before the apocalypse, their pace was almost as slow as a snail's.

Qi Jingchen did not have to walk. He sat on a truck surrounded by people, like stars surrounding a moon, protecting his vehicle.

He wrote out his thoughts and plans on many sheets of paper.

When he looked up, he saw a little girl being carried on her mother's back. She was blinking her eyes and staring at him.

The little girl was skinny, and perhaps because of this, her eyes appeared much larger than they actually were. Qi Jingchen smiled at her, and the girl's face lit up with a bright smile, melting people's hearts. The girl's mother, who had begged for milk for her baby in the past, had the same expression on her face upon seeing Qi Jingchen smile at her child.

Qi Jingchen was fond of children, and Nie Yi, who noticed how often Qi Jingchen paid attention to the children, became instinctively guarded. In his eyes, Qi Jingchen had been heavily influenced by him, but he was always worried that Qi Jingchen would turn back to his old self and have his own ideas about things.

"Yeah," Qi Jingchen smiled before tossing a light ball at the monkey to encourage it to continue planting vegetables.

The food grown by the little monkey was never enough for everyone, but they could be used as rewards.

"Do you want children?" Nie Yi couldn't help but ask.

"Why? Would you give birth or would I?" Qi Jingchen raised an eyebrow, sometimes wondering why someone as powerful as Nie Yi was always so anxious.

Nie Yi didn't know what Qi Jingchen was thinking, but he was pleased to see that he hadn't listed someone else giving birth to their child as an option.

Their team had too many people, and it was inconvenient for them to find a place to settle down, so they kept moving without rest during the day. They usually asked water ability users around them for water and ate as they walked.

At night, they would find a place to stop before the sky was completely dark and rest.

On a map, the S city safe zone was not far from the Dabie Mountains, but via walking, it felt like crossing mountains and rivers.

Along the way, they managed to get some cars, but they could only be used to transport supplies and weak people, not allowing them to speed up.

That night, they stayed in the wilderness.

Although there were houses in the city, there were too many zombies, so everyone preferred to live in the wilderness and find some food while camping.

Someone had already helped Qi Jingchen tidy up his accommodation or simply build a house, but he wanted to walk around the camp, to get a better sense of the situation of those around him.

Previously, if humans were not bitten by zombies or exposed to the zombie virus, they couldn't turn into zombies. However, now the situation was different; many people became zombies after eating contaminated food.

The several small safe zones they later encountered were willing to abandon their homes and follow them due to this reason. When people started turning into zombies for no reason in their safe zone, out of fear of the unknown, they chose to follow this team.

Qi Jingchen walked slowly in the camp, with a few others. He was very popular here, but not everyone liked him. Therefore, even if Nie Yi allowed him to leave alone, he would definitely find someone to accompany him.

Qi Jingchen walked around the camp and, when he came to the edge, saw a girl in her early teens sitting in the corner, with her head down and immobile. She had quite a bit of dark energy on her, and although she had not become a zombie, her whole body was lethargic and she appeared physically uncomfortable.

Qi Jingchen looked at the girl, placed his hand on her head, "God bless." Bright energy touched the girl's body, and she became energized.

The change was very obvious. The girl looked up in surprise at Qi Jingchen.

"In the future, be careful not to eat anything that has gone bad," Qi Jingchen reminded her.

The girl responded softly, blushing. At that moment, a boy two or three years older suddenly ran over and looked at Qi Jingchen warily. His voice was hoarse due to puberty, "What are you doing?"

Most people in the team admired Qi Jingchen, but not everyone believed in him. After all, when there were too many people, Qi Jingchen didn't have time to bless everybody. Not everyone could feel the effects of the light energy.

Qi Jingchen wasn't bothered by the boy's wariness and instead smiled at him.

His affability off the charts. With that smile, the boy's face turned red.

He hadn't had any close contact with Qi Jingchen before, so even though he had heard a lot of good things about him, he didn't dare believe in Qi Jingchen. But at that moment, a thought popped into his mind. Maybe Qi Jingchen was quite good...

Wait a minute, was he being misled?

The boy watched as Qi Jingchen walked away and came to the girl's side again. "Do you feel uncomfortable? What did he do to you?"

"Brother, I was uncomfortable before, but now I feel all better!" The girl looked excitedly at her brother. She had gotten sick because she ate some contaminated food, but she didn't want to tell her brother, and so she emphasized the help Qi Jingchen gave her. "Brother, he really is amazing. No wonder people say he's a deity!"

The boy, hearing his sister's words, became unhappy. "Sis, you don't know what kind of person he is. Didn't Uncle Zhao say that Qi Jingchen was duping people with his special ability?"

"But I think he's very good," the girl pouted.

"Be careful in the future," the boy warned.

"I know," the girl nodded.

The boy saw that his sister's complexion had indeed improved and looked at Qi Jingchen's back, feeling like he may have misjudged him.

His sister had been lethargic, but as soon as Qi Jingchen arrived, she recovered. It was quite amazing.

As he was mulling over this, a person appeared in front of them.

He was a young man in his twenties. This far into the apocalypse most of the older people died off, so young people like him were the more common. Generally, they had learned to take responsibility, but the expression on this man's face was somewhat confused.

The boy was puzzled as to why this man was walking towards them when he suddenly saw him place his hand on his sister's head.

Having witnessed the cruelty of the apocalypse, the boy had even made his sister dress as a boy to keep her safe. He exploded with anger, "What are you doing? Let go of my sister!" He punched him in the face.

The man was hit by the boy's punch and a black eye sprouted. He looked at the boy, hurt and teary-eyed. "You hit me."

"Why can't I? You touched my sister!" The boy looked at the young man angrily. At that moment, Shi Qing ran over.

"I'm sorry, he's cognitively impaired. Don't mind him." Shi Qing said to the boy, pulling Yu Xuguang away.
Yu Xuguang refused to leave and instead turned in the direction where Qi Jingchen was and said, "Light!"

"What are you doing? Aren't you afraid of being slapped and flattened by Nie Shao?" Shi Shiqing ignored Yu Xuguang's resistance and pulled him away.

Although Yu Xuguang had made mistakes, he had also done a lot for the people in B City's safe zone, so he had to protect this person no matter what.

The young man didn't know whether what Shi Shiqing said was true or false, but when he saw these people leave, he breathed a sigh of relief and said to his sister, "Little sister, there are a lot of wild vegetables near where we stopped today. I asked around and as long as they're not black, we can eat them. I'll go find some."

Although some food was distributed to them, it was really little, and they were all still growing, so it was hard to eat enough. That's why he was always trying his best to find food and save it up.

The girl hesitated whether to tell her brother about how she had gotten sick from eating bad food, but in the end, she didn't say anything and just said, "Brother, I'll go too."

"I can go alone. You stay at here obediently." The young man left quickly - he had made an appointment with someone to go out and find food.

Qi Jingchen encouraged everyone to go out and find food, but there were too many people in the group, so only a few were able to find food in the end.

"We found a village nearby, and the people there planted a lot of leeks. We dug up the roots and plan to plant them ourselves. We can have leek soup tonight." The first to return was Nie Yi, and one of the fighters selected from the huge team. They had cleared the area of zombies while searching for supplies. Because they were at the forefront, they usually had good harvests.

"Did anyone get hurt?" Qi Jingchen asked.

"Yes." The man nodded, then quickly brought over a few people, among whom two and a half had started turning into zombies but, because they were ability users, their transformation was slow. They could still talk when they came in front of Qi Jingchen and were grateful to him.

Qi Jingchen healed them one by one, then went to see what they had brought back.

The dark energy in the cities was very strong, but it was still relatively okay in remote villages. They not only found leeks, but also other vegetables that grew naturally in the village and some rice and wheat left behind by the villagers, which had not gone bad yet.

The rice and wheat had not been husked, so Qi Jingchen had it all crushed and made into dumplings - they couldn't afford to waste even the bran now.

The grains added up to several thousand pounds, enough for each person in the team to have a small dumpling, and with the leek soup, the dinner was anything but bad.

"This soup tastes weird!" Ryan, one of the foreigners, was given a bowl of leek soup. He thought it tasted terrible but he took his time and still drank all of it.

"I've been to China before and there were so many delicious things! They're all gone now!" Ryan said with a regretful face.

Ryan's Chinese was awkward, but Qi Jingchen had no way to communicate with him in English. He had worked hard to learn English by listening to tapes when he was in college, but after the end of the world ten years ago... now he only remembered the alphabet and a few common phrases.

Just then, Nie Yi finished cooking Qi Jingchen's meal.

Braised potatoes, stir-fried vegetables, a bowl of loach soup, a steamed carp, and pancakes made with flour as the main dish.

Everything else was normal but when Qi Jingchen saw the loach and carp, his eyes lit up.

"I'll go get two more things for us tonight." Nie Yi said. When they were in places with fewer people, he always managed to find something to eat using his spiritual strength and abilities.

Ryan and several other people who were protecting Qi Jingchen and guarding Chu Zhen drooled at the sight of the food, but unfortunately didn't get any.

Just then, there was a noise outside. The adolescent boy's voice was in the midst of his voice change and somewhat unpleasant to the ear but the anger in his voice was very clear.

"Come out!" Qi Jingchen heard vaguely, the voice familiar.

"What's going on?" Nie Yi asked coldly.

"Nie Shao, a teenager is causing a commotion, suspecting that Qi Shao has abducted his sister." A person from B City's safe zone said indignantly.

"Why would Jingchen take his sister?" Nie Yi snorted. He was unhappy when he heard someone falsely accusing Qi Jingchen.

Qi Jingchen thought for a moment and said, "Bring him in."

The young man was soon brought in, and it was the one Qi Jingchen had seen before. He had been wary of Qi Jingchen before, but he had not had any malice towards him. Now, his face was full of anger. If someone hadn't been holding him down, he would have rushed at Qi Jingchen.

When he saw the food in front of Qi Jingchen, he sneered even more. Everyone said how good Qi Jingchen was and how much he had done, but in fact? They couldn't even eat their fill, while Qi Jingchen was eating big fish and meat...

Qi Jingchen still gave him a friendly feeling, but this made him even more angry. Who knew how this person had deceived others using his kind impression?

"Your sister is missing?" Qi Jingchen asked.

"What are you pretending to be kind-hearted for? Isn't it you who kidnapped my sister?" The young man gritted his teeth and looked at Qi Jingchen. "Why would I kidnap your sister?" Qi Jingchen furrowed his brows.

"Who knows? That idiot who is always following you even bothered my sister!" The young man clenched his fists.

Idiot? Was he talking about Yu Xuguang? Given Yu Xuguang's current circumstances, how could he bother others?

The Perfect Relationship Ch 89

🍁 The Perfect Relationship 🍁 by Xi He Qing Ling

Chapter 89: Kiss Before Leaving

In the months of November and December, although Haicheng had not become bone-chillingly cold yet, a hint of damp chill could already be felt in the air.

In the early morning, Yin Chang held the warm Shao Junling in his arms, feeling too comfortable to get out of bed. However, a new alarm tone rang from beside them.

Immediately after, the "little warm stove" in his arms started to fidget.

"...Did you set it?" Yin Chang frowned.

"Yeah." Shao Junling picked up his phone and turned off the sound.

Yin Chang unconsciously tightened his arms. "What are you doing so early?" he asked with a lazy tone.

"Running," Shao Junling wriggled and got out of Yin Chang's embrace, "I have to start training for the upcoming red belt exam. My coach wants me to run three kilometers every day to improve my physical fitness."

"Can't you run at night?" Displeasure could be heard in Yin Chang's voice.

"I don't have enough time at night." Shao Junling quickly put on his clothes. He looked towards his still sleeping brother, and reached out to pull the blanket over him.

At this moment, Yin Chang suddenly grabbed his wrist and unconsciously murmured, "Kiss me before you go..."

Shao Junling was stunned, and his face turned completely red with embarrassment. He struggled to shake off Yin Chang's hold and ran away as fast as he could.

Yin Chang furrowed his brows slightly, still in a daze as he dreamt.

He dreamed of when he was a child. Before Yin Dong left for a long journey, he would lift him up and say, "Kiss me before I go." His handsome and gentle father's face was close, with nothing but reluctance in his eyes. Yin Chang clung tightly to his father's neck and also kissed his forehead affectionately...

The warmth of his blanket was still there, but the feeling of cuddling was gone, making Yin Chang's thoughts slowly return to reality.

He opened his eyes,l a little dazed. This memory came from when he was very young, and as he grew older, Yin Dong stopped doing that. He thought he had already forgotten about it. However, he had not expected this memory to still be buried deep in his subconscious mind. It made him blurt out those words to Shao Junling when he was half asleep.

Yin Chang looked at the time, it was only six-thirty in the morning. He was still sleepy and he wanted to go back to sleep before his work started at ten o'clock in the morning.

When Shao Junling came back from his morning run, Yin Chang had already gone back to sleep with his blanket.

Afraid of waking Yin Chang up, Shao Junling went to take a shower in the bathroom before entering the bedroom again to change his clothes. It was almost seven o'clock, and he had to leave for school after breakfast.

As he picked up his backpack, Shao Junling suddenly thought of something and tiptoed to the bedside.

Looking at his brother who was sleeping like a log, Shao Junling's heart beat rhythmically in his chest.

Kiss me before I go... Where should I kiss him?

His gaze swept over Yin Chang's smooth forehead, long eyelashes, high nose bridge... until it finally fell onto his blush lips.

Was it here?

...

...

Five minutes later.

Shao Junling appeared at the dining table with a flushed face. He took a deep breath and buried his head in a large bowl of porridge, gulping it down as fast as he could.

Fiona came out with a cup of hot milk and was shocked by his eating. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

"Um..." Shao Junling wiped his mouth and drank the entire bottle of high calcium milk in a single gulp before picking up his backpack and running away.

🍁

At the end of the semester, Yin Chang received a call from Teacher Lin, saying that Shao Junling had passed the grade-skipping test and would be joining class 3A after the Chinese New Year.

Yin Chang was both delighted at his brother's progress and worried that he might not adapt to the new environment and teacher after changing classes.

Teacher Lin smiled, "Don't worry, the possibility of that happening is very low. The grade-skipping test at De International not only examines academic performance, but also conducts psychological evaluations. If he cannot pass the evaluation, regardless of his academic performance, he will not be allowed to skip a grade."

In addition, De International provided a one-on-one psychotherapist for special students who were capable of skipping grades, and that was also what Teacher Lin did. Even if Shao Junling's homeroom teacher changed in the future, Teacher Lin would continue to monitor his physical and mental health until he graduated from elementary school.

"During this period, if I find anything special about Junling, I will adjust his situation in a timely manner."

"I see." Yin Chang breathed a sigh of relief and then asked, "What does the psychological evaluation mainly assess?"

"Things like his mental age, adaptability to new environments, and the purpose of skipping a grade..." Teacher Lin said. "Speaking of that, did you give your brother any pressure to skip a grade?"

"What?" Yin Chang was puzzled.

Teacher Lin clarfied, "Perhaps not pressure, sometimes it may be unconscious suggestions from adults."

"I don't remember saying anything..." Yin Chang replied. "How did he respond?"

Teacher Lin laughed along, "He said he wants to catch up with his older brother."

Yin Chang was amused, "No way, I'm so much older than him. What does he want to catch up to me for? How could he catch up to me?"

Teacher Lin laughed as well, "Yes, that's what I thought too. Usually, if there are older siblings who are more accomplished in the family, a child's normal mindset should be admiration and aspiration, like wanting to be as good as their older brother. It shouldn't be 'catching up to their older brother'... If the latter mindset appears, it is often that the elders in the family use inappropriate suppression and derogation to motivate the child. If we encounter this we try to discourage it..." Teacher Lin paused and hurriedly added, "Ah, I'm just giving an example. I recall that you are not like that."

Yin Chang reflected on his usual way of treating Shao Junling, "Sometimes I tease him, does that count?"

"How do you tease him?" Teacher Lin asked.

"...Tickling him? Joking with him?" Yin Chang replied.

Teacher Lin chuckled, "That doesn't count."

"Then that's all. I don't have much demand for him, and I never ask him about his rank. My support for him skipping a grade is based on the premise that he catches up with his peers in his age group. After all, he automatically repeated a year when he entered school. If he does it too much, I worry about him getting along with others," Yin Chang said.

"You've considered this very comprehensively. Actually, after this evaluation, we found that Shao Junling's psychological age is higher than his peers, so sometimes he behaves differently not because of his introverted personality, but because he doesn't have common topics to discuss with the people around him... I think his skipping a grade this time is just the beginning. If he has the ability, we will support him to continue to move forward," Teacher Lin said.

"Thank you..." Yin Chang joked, "But don't put too much pressure on him. I see that he is doing his homework until 9:30 every night and getting up at 6am to run. It really affects my sleep quality."

Teacher Lin was stunned for two seconds, "Uh, then, are you sleeping with Junling..."

"Yes," Yin Chang said. He saw that Lu Lingjuan nearby was silently gesturing to him. "Teacher Lin, I have to go to work. We'll talk on WeChat."

"Okay, bye. We'll chat later."

After hanging up the phone, Teacher Lin couldn't help but think of the scene from "Super Star Life" where the brothers were sleeping together in each other's arms. Her face flushed, and she put her hands on her cheeks to cool them down.

Not only her, but after "Super Star Life" aired, most of the teachers at De International watched the show. Many female teachers naturally became fans of Yin Chang and Shao Junling's brotherhood. Because Yin Chang and Shao Junling got along so well, there were few female viewers who weren't captivated after watching this show. Combined with the fact that both of them were orphans, it caused the female teachers to overflow with motherly love.

This also made Teacher Lin, who was Shao Junling's homeroom teacher, popular among the grade level. Just as she returned to the office, a group of teachers surrounded her and curiously asked. "How did it go? How did it go?"

"What are you talking about?" Teacher Lin gave them a playful stare. "Communication with the parents of students is considered private, it cannot be revealed."

A male teacher who didn't join in pretended to scold them from behind, "Yes, you need to pay attention to your professional standards."

Of course, the teachers knew, but they couldn't resist the impulse to chase after stars even as they grew older...

After teasing Teacher Lin for a while, the teachers dispersed.

Back in the office, Teacher Lin recorded the time and the content of the conversation with Yin Chang. While documenting the last sentence, she considered the situation again. Although it was a lovely scene, from an objective and adolescent developmental psychology point of view, she couldn't help feeling that there was something strange about it.

"Teacher Fang, can I ask you something?" Teacher Lin asked her female colleague in a low voice. "Do you think it's fine for an eleven-year-old boy to still sleep with his adult brother?"

Teacher Fang was the most experienced female teacher in the department and the oldest, nearing fifty.

"You mean Shao Junling and Yin Chang?" She quickly guessed who Teacher Lin was talking about and said with a smile, "He hasn't reached puberty yet, so it doesn't matter. In a few years, when he develops a sense of privacy, he will gradually become independent."

Teacher Lin nodded in understanding. Perhaps she was overthinking it.

But at that moment, Teacher Fang pushed up her glasses and added, "But since they don't share blood, this situation is indeed inappropriate and they should be separated early."

"...," Teacher Lin was suddenly conflicted.

She wanted to say, "Teacher Fang, times have changed. Even blood siblings... might not be appropriate!"

🍁

In March after New Year's, Shao Junling successfully passed the red belt exam for Taekwondo, and Yin Chang began filming for "Encounter Love in the Square."

Originally, with the addition of Yin Chang, the entire crew was delighted, and several lead actors expressed their warm welcome to Yin Chang as well. However, as soon as they began filming, they discovered a serious problem.

In the original script, the writer described the blind person as an "unremarkable" man, but Yin Chang's looks were somewhat outstanding. Whenever he sat there with his sunglasses on, almost everyone's gaze in the entire room would be involuntarily attracted to him.

...How is this "background scenery," he's obviously the "spotlight!"

If the female lead could still talk about love with other people casually in front of Yin Chang, when the movie aired, the audience would probably curse the real blind person as her.

So, just two days into filming, the director urgently called a meeting with the producers and writers. The producer suggested that they persuade Jiang Li to replace him as the male lead, but Yin Chang was unwilling. He insisted on portraying the blind person and even said that he had read the script several times to capture the character's psychological changes when observing the female lead and interacting with different people to prepare for this role.

The director was really puzzled... This dude was blind for the entire movie, wearing sunglasses all the time. What psychological changes could he possibly portray?
