The Perfect Relationship Ch 113

🍁 The Perfect Relationship 🍁 by Xi He Qing Ling

Chapter 113 Siya

Yin Chang's Weibo post received countless likes, with comments from fans complimenting him and expressing envy. However, there was no message from Shao Junling.

Fiona didn't eat much, and Yin Chang lost his appetite due to anger. They finished less than a third of the dishes on the table, and threw the rest away.

It wasn't until the day before returning to the crew that Yin Chang saw Shao Junling's like and response to his post with a message saying "I'm hungry". Upon seeing those two words, Yin Chang regretted his childish behavior towards Shao Junling. He realized that his heart was constantly being swayed by Shao Junling, and the things that moved him were just ordinary things.

For example, the photo taken at the bar, where young people gathered and leaned against each other in a normal manner; the photo of Shao Junling and Qin Xifeng, which was probably just a simple "acquaintance in a strange land"; Shao Junling's failure to like his post in time, which may have been due to being too busy until today.

Sighing lightly, Yin Chang completely gave up his childish behavior towards Shao Junling.

One evening at the end of February, while with the crew, Yin Chang received a call from his family doctor regarding Fiona's health checkup report.

It happened to be raining that day, and the winter and spring rain was bone-chilling. Yin Chang stood at the hotel entrance wearing a spacious down jacket, listening to the doctor's report calmly before saying, “Then arrange for her to be hospitalized for treatment.”

After hanging up the phone, he stood motionless for a long time, staring at the water curtain under the canopied entrance.

"Yin Chang, why are you standing here alone?" A young actor rushed back and asked him. Yin Chang smiled at him and politely asked, "Can I borrow a cigarette?"

"Oh, don't say that, I'll give you one," the young actor generously handed him a cigarette and lit it for him. Seeing that Yin Chang seemed to have something on his mind, he waved and left first.

Yin Chang took a puff of smoke, and in his mind, he once again saw Yin Dong smoking one cigarette after another when he was alone outside many years ago.

Looking through the rain curtain at the dark sky, he silently asked in his heart, "Dad, how did you survive after losing the love of your life?"...It was just that he and Shao Junling were separated by distance and were both almost unable to bear the loneliness.

On another day, Yin Chang sent Lu Lingjuan to Hong Kong to inquire about the whereabouts of a person.

The person's name was Aaron, the owner of the bar where Yin Dong used to work. Luo Chuan disclosed this information to him and said that this person was the one who knew the details of Yin Dong's life and emotional state best during his early years in Hong Kong. However, with two or three decades gone by, the bar was long gone, and Luo Chuan didn't know if Aaron was still in Hong Kong. He also provided information on a few other people who had worked as part-time workers or frequent customers at the bar, and who had some knowledge of Yin Dong.

Years apart, finding these people was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Lu Lingjuan went to Hong Kong for half a month but came back with very few leads.

The owner of the bar named Aaron had immigrated to New Zealand twenty years ago and was already in his seventies. Lu Lingjuan couldn't get in touch with him no matter how hard she tried. However, she managed to find a bartender named Kaser, who had previously worked at the bar. After the bar closed, Kaser set up his own business with several of his colleagues.

Kaser was a few years older than Yin Dong. Now in his fifties, he was no longer a bartender but the boss behind several lounges in Hong Kong.

It took Lu Lingjuan a lot of effort to arrange a meeting with him. But when Kaser talked about Yin Dong's past, his tone was tinged with a hint of disgust and indignation, confirming Luo Chuan's claim that "he was disliked by others."

Kaser said that Yin Dong had a boyfriend named Siya who came from an upper-class family and was good at art, painting, and playing the piano. He was extremely handsome, even more so than the stars on TV. But Siya, despite being a young master, was dirtier than anyone else. Kaser said that when Siya was with Yin Dong, it was just for fun. Apart from Yin Dong, he was involved with many other people. “Casual sex” was the term Yin Dong used to describe it, as he and Siya would often argue, and every time they quarreled, Yin Dong would act as if he was done with him. But every time, Kaser saw them making up and kissing afterward.

Once they quarreled and Yin Dong was so angry that he didn't go home for several days. After the bar closed in the early morning, he drank himself into a state of drunkenness. The next day, Kaser asked him if he had another fight with Siya.

Yin Dong said they had broken up and this time it was for good.

"I won't be with him anymore, or I'll have a miserable life." He said that at the time.

But that night, Siya came to find him. When he saw Yin Dong, he kept begging and saying "forgive me." Yin Dong told him to leave, but he didn't. The staff and customers in the bar were all watching the scene. Yin Dong could only take Siya to the back alley. Kaser followed and saw Siya kneeling in front of Yin Dong, crying and begging him not to leave.

Kaser stood there dumbfounded, watching as they hugged each other, kissed and cried.

Until this day, Kaser still couldn't understand the torturous and complicated relationship between those two...

When Yin Dong came back, Kaser asked him, "Are you back together again? You said that you wouldn’t have a good life if you were with him."

Yin Dong lowered his eyes weakly and said resignedly, "I have fallen into his hands in this life. If I won't have a good life, then I won’t have a good life."

That night, Siya had been waiting for Yin Dong at the bar all along, hesitating and at a loss, cowering in a corner, staring at Yin Dong without turning his eyes away. He didn't look like a young master at all, but more like a dog who had made a mistake and was afraid of being abandoned by his owner.

"A Dong is kind-hearted and vulnerable. He was entangled by Siya. It's said that…

Lu Lingjuan worried that it might upset Yinchang, so she didn't repeat what she had heard.

"I've found all the information I could for now. I also sent an email to Aaron earlier, but the email address was from a long time ago and I don't know if he'll reply..." Lu Lingjuan said.

Yinchang's head throbbed dullly. He covered his face with both hands and muttered, "It's okay, don't search anymore. Let's just leave it like this."

There were things Lu Lingjuan didn't say, but Yinchang could guess on his own - this man could draw, play the piano, and all these details matched the clues in that villa.

Clearly, Siya was the person who had lived in that house and the only person his father had ever loved.

Furthermore, when Kaser mentioned Siya's appearance, he also mentioned that he was mixed race.

Thinking of his own unique eye color and appearance, and linking it to Kaser's description of Siya, if Siya had really cheated on Yindong, he was very likely the product of that betrayal.

However, Yinchang did not expect that his biological father was such a despicable person in the eyes of others...

How had Yindong felt while raising Yinchang all these years?

In the warm spring of April, Yinchang finally finished his eight-month shoot and returned to Haicheng. Yao Manhuai gave him three months off to adjust his state.

Fiona had chemotherapy treatment in the hospital. Yinchang had originally planned to take her home after returning to Haicheng, but Fiona refused, saying that she was a sick person and would bring Yinchang down if she went back with him.

Yinchang didn't insist and instead hired a caregiver for her at the hospital and visited her every few days.

During March's health checkup, Fiona was diagnosed with lymphoma and pre-symptoms of Alzheimer's. Lymphoma could be cured through chemotherapy if detected early, but Alzheimer's could only be slowed down through preventative medication. There was no specific cure. In other words, even if Fiona could survive, she would slowly forget all people and things.

During his rest months, Yinchang had nothing to do and cooked at home every day.

He downloaded many cooking videos, from traditional Chinese dumplings and hand-pulled noodles, to western-style soups and pizzas. Yinchang would often have Lu Lingjuan pack his food and distribute it to the employees at New Star Entertainment because he couldn't eat so much by himself.

Yinchang was someone who cared about details. When he was learning baking before, he particularly liked the process of color blending and decorating flowers, and now cooking was no exception. The type of ingredients, color matching, and choice of plates were all considered art for him.

After each meal, he would take photos and post them on his WeChat Moments. His plate presentation got better and better each day and the photos became more and more appetizing.

After two months of bombardment, Yinchang's friends couldn't hold back anymore.

"Bro, I'm on a diet, are you trying to make me drool every day?!"

"If you have the skills, just post it on Weibo, why only post on Moments and torture us?!"

"The most painful thing in the world is looking at delicious food on a screen but not being able to taste it..."

"Yinchang, we just happen to have a food variety show over here, do you want to consider it?"

......

Even Mi Xiu sent him a private message asking, "Little bro, are you planning to switch careers and become a food broadcaster?"

Seeing the words "switch careers," Yinchang unexpectedly felt a flicker of excitement.

He felt that he really liked cooking, and this kind of liking was different from his liking for acting. Acting was because each script and character was different, which made Yinchang not feel bored. But his liking for cooking was purely enjoying the process of cooking itself.

Even if he made terrible food, it didn't matter, because every time he played around with various ingredients, it was like doing a fun experiment.

Before, he thought only foodies liked cooking, but when it came to himself, he felt that it didn't matter if no one ate it. Whether or not others recognized it did not affect his passion for cooking.

Yinchang replied to Mi Xiu, "I don't want to be a food broadcaster."

Mi Xiu: "...Then why do you cook every day and post it on Moments?"

Yinchang: "Do you want to try? Come to my house tonight, I'll cook for you."

Mi Xiu: "......"

  1. Hi, i'm sorry, but it seems you lost some of the novel part in this chapter.
the dialogue Kaser said in paragraph "Ah Dong is kindhearted and vulnerable"
    you lost 4 paragraphs

did the link you have lost it, or you deliberately cut it off because it's rather sad for the MC?
